Well, I guess I learned my lesson about stumbling around in the garden after a long, hot day at work, while still wearing my cluncky steel toed shoes. I could almost hear half of the list cheering as I discovered the small plant, which I must have accidentally kicked off right at ground level. The victim: a Bosland developed heatless Jalapeno, from seed sent by the Chile Pepper Institute a year or two ago. At least it was one of the very few that this could have happened to without me shedding moderate little tears. Still have another one in the ground, still have a pound or two of regular Jals. in the freezer, and you can still get Jals.... oh, like ANYWHERE. So no big loss I guess, except for my time and efforts watching them grow (though very slowly, almost gave up on getting anything from them anyway). I was going to say may el grande have mercy on me, but considering the variety, maybe this is worth some good chile-karma. -- Erich C-H # 2099 & First Lieutenant of the Moderate Corps - And plant-stomper extaordinaire. How's that quote go: "Sometimes big feet... just means fewer chiles"?
