2 years ago, my family went to the Knowlton Riverfest.
I missed it last year. 2 years ago there was a hot
sauce vendor. I, of course, bought a few bottles to
add to the collection.

This year there was also a hot sauce vendor. I bought
1 bottle - Toad Sweat Key Lime. I got home and tried
it on some vanilla ice cream. It is sooooo good. It is
sweet, it has great lime flavor and it has a nice heat
- that hits you later. The vendor also had Lemon
Vanilla. I didn't buy that one.

I saw Toad Sweat on Food Finds, Food TV, awhile back.
What a great idea - a sweet hot sauce for desserts.
Since we all know that the NJ Hot Luck folks sprinkled
red savina powder on vanilla ice cream (Eat the Heat),
this wasn't far off from that mark. What a great
combination - ice cold ice cream, chile pepper heat.
Interesting combination.

I also had some Cajun Fried Turkey on focaccia. I
sprinkled it with more cayenne and Tabasco sauce (only
sauce they had at the food vendor). It was delicious.
They had 2 kinds this year - cajun and jamaican jerk.
I asked what the jerk was like and the woman said that
it was sweet. I said "jamaican jerk is supposed to be
quite hot". She said "this version is sweet." I said
"give me the cajun."

Also the pulled pork bbq guy ran out of pulled pork
just as I am about to order. He told me that the
chicken and beef "were just as good." To me, pork is
the ultimate in bbq. Nothing compares. I went to the
turkey lady instead. He lost my sale. Oh well.

Good day at the riverfest. Great festival if anyone
from NJ or PA can make it. It is this weekend every
year.
