Out in Pasadena, CA last week on business I had a couple of meals at Maki & Sushi in nearby Arcadia. I had a really great dish called Crazy Monkey (they gave all their dishes colorful names). They took half of a seeded jalapeno, filled it with spicy tuna, dipped it in tempura batter and lightly fried it. The order had 4 jalapeno halves, each half was cut lengthwise to show the (nearly) raw tuna inside. It came with a sauce for dipping that was pretty tasty. The best part was they used jalapenos that had real heat, not some heatless variety. Everybody at the table was sharing their order, but I only had one taker to try the Crazy Monkey... he started to sweat after one bite. Scott... all the more for me... KCK
