Has anyone grown these hateful little bastards before? We're growing them for the first time this year and they just started getting ripe. They are the size and shape of a pequin. Two nights ago, while picking chiles, my wife and I thought we should taste them. So, we each popped one off of the plant and ate it....bad freaking idea, pal. These sons of guns were just spiteful hot -- I mean, these suckers were p****d off. The heat was slow coming and then just lingered for several minutes. Once the heat came, it took my breath away -- I thought my wife was going to be physically ill. Once I stopped hallucinating, I realized that the chiles were sweet (not fruity) and actually pretty tasty. The idea that some types of heat affect some people differently has surfaced on this list before, and I am now a true believer. We grow about one-third to one-half C. chinense chiles, so we tend to eat things quite spicy....but not like this! The real reason for my post -- what do I do with all of these? Sauce? Caribe? Powder? Also, I would just be interested to know who has grown / eaten these before, and what they think. Thanks. Matt ===== . . . . . .
