[CH] Opera bwowser

Riley,

As the owner of a Web site development firm, I can tell you that most
developers abandoned the W3 standards some time ago. With Opera representing
less than 0.01% of the market, and Netscape representing less than 3% we can
not afford, nor can our clients afford to build sites that work with all
versions of *all* browsers, (especially MAC versions :-). MS IE controls the
market, and when we quote inter-operability with alternative browsers our
clients *always* decline due to the cost associated with additional
development, browser detection, etc. FWIW...

I do agree that IE has some unsafe potential with sites using JS
(JavaScript) and other potentially hazardous means of installing spyware,
etc., but installing the latest updates
http://v4.windowsupdate.microsoft.com/en/default.asp can prevent *most* of
that.

I only mentioned it since presumably those who take these photos like people
to be able to view them.

One reason I use Opera is to check that websites meet (W3C) standards.
Shutterfly does not--someone else posted a link to it which didn't display
correctly either. It also doesn't work with the Konqueror browser. It does
display with Mozilla.

If you "View Source" you'll see this is a javascript, not a jpeg.

Practice safe computing. Don't use Internet Explorer and you will find you
reduce the risk of being hacked exponentially. If you delete LookOut too,
you're certainly safer.

Now, to bring this back on topic, it is definite now that DW Mary has
deserted the ranks of the moderate. And may have left the immoderates
behind too.

Just for fun I ordered an extract based sauce the other day along with some
more 'standard' stuff. When it arrived I tasted it by dipping a toothpick
into it. Taste was so so--since it _is_ extract this doesn't impugn the
reputation of the supplier--but it was hot.

Anyway, Mary takes the bottle, pours some in a spoon and licks it. Expecting
shouts and tears she floors me by saying "Isn't hot, but tastes like sh*t!"

Watch out, Walter Spencer!

Hot regards,

Riley
