Greetings and Saludos, CHs, from snowy NW Indiana, USA.
Happy New Year! Before I get busy / ready after the offsprings'
holidays from school, I gotta ramble to you-all. That and I gotta head
out and SHOVEL this white precipitation on the ground. Oh well. It was
61F (16C) just two days ago. Ay caramba. At least it's the sticky snow,
which gives the outdoors a nice post-card winter look. The Open Fields
and that growing zone are still getting RAINED on, I believe.
The crops here are overwintering OK in the basement. I may have lost
one plant in a little pot to lack of watering, but most are doing OK
with only a little leaf-drop. Doing reMARKably well is the neighbor CH's
hab triple-bush, in a 2-gallon (or so) pot. I just gotta remember to
harvest the other plants, the ones with remaining pods, before MOLD gets
'em. AS the next week will be below freezing, I can CERTAINLY make use
of some heat.
And now for a shopping report: I just discovered *El Yucateco Chipotle!*
I'm loving THIS. You-all mentioned it months ago, but I didn't see it
until recently at my local unionized mega-mart. As others said, it's a
little sweet, with low-to-medium heat, vinegar is barely there, and it's
got a nice "amber/auburn" color to it. Priced similarly, but in a
larger size than other El Yuc sauces.
Items bought but un-used: "EL PATO" brand enchilada sauce and "Las
Palmas" medium-rated red chile sauce. Both in cans, both at about US$1
at the local "Big Lots." "Your thoughts?" CHs?
Off topic: Anyone experienced with Agora or Interchange shopping carts,
or others? Please advise off-list (CH1200@comcast.net, or
jesse@websalesplus.com) Thanks.
HASTA LA LISTA,
Jesse G. = CH1200
