Greetings! At long last, I'm free, now I can deluge the list with posts :-) My wife and I have always liked a bit of heat in our food. It all started with Frank's, then it was more Frank's. Then Cholula, then more Cholula. But the turning point came when we got our first bottle of Sriracha sauce. It was substantially hotter but quite good. Then came that fateful day last september when I woke up with a nasty migraine. I hid away as usual until lunch. It was left over pizza. I broke out the Sriracha and for some reason went way overboard. Sweat, eyes watering, mouth burning, but the most amazing thing was, by the time I was done the migraine was gone, completely. I was absolutely stunned and amazed. After trying all these stupid drugs over the years at risk of my health I find this. Well you don't have to tell me twice. I got right on the net and started checking it out. What a suprise, apparently mankind has known about this for a few thousand years (I can't believe nobody has told the doctors, mds anyway, apparently the witchdoctors know ;-) So the next natural step in the progression was to get on the Chile-Heads list. This happened just prior to that gathering that occurs in a secret location somewhere in Indiana. Indiana! by the time I got around to figuring out where it was it was too late. But we're planning on being there this year (we live in NE Indiana). Thankfully, this was our first year to grow serranos in our garden (along with jalapenos and anaheims). I just hope we can milk them along until the next crop starts to come in. Anyway...next phase...the old hot sauce just doesn't cut it any more. Soo...how about that Mild to Wild 'Red Savina and Garlic' stuff everybody talks about.Being a person who likes to avoid unusual processing etc. ie:extracts, this sounded like just the ticket. IT IS!! man, great stuff (Thanks Jim!, um, does it come in quarts too?). Between this and the Ralph's Righteous, we're about set. But we're really looking forward to fresh habs, chiltepes, piquins, red savinas etc. from the garden :-) We've just entered the next phase, experimentation. We've had at least one absolutely great success which we're keeping under wraps until we get the recipe just right then we're planning on the unveiling at Open Fields. BTW...I tried killing a migraine with Dave's special reserve in painful amounts in a bowl of chile-had no effect, I'm stickin with the non-extract. As far as other intro stuph., we're a family of five, my wife, Teri, who has become worse than me about depleting our pod stash. Two daughters and one son, who so far have been a little slow coming around, but their getting there. Three dogs, three cats, a bunch o' fish. Primary hobby at the moment is geocaching (see geocaching.com, it's good fun!) Looking forward to actually being able to chat with folks here now! Stay Hot!! PQ
