Re: I cannot image why someone would use POA acid in lieu of an H2O2 solition, especially if they are going to be exposing the chiles to heat (e.g., smoking chipotles). Job security? :-) Following the thread though & I have to agree with either supposition: The journalist got it wrong by not being familiar with the subject (hah! What are the odds of that?) or they did mean H2O2. Unless I mis-read it, POA (judging from the name) is an organic peroxide & those things are dangerous indeed... or fun to play with, depending ;-) Not to dis the profession, but it amazes me sometimes how little journalists know (or care to learn) about the subject matter before making statements. How many times do you see it written (or reported) about the firefighters with their 'oxygen tanks' on their backs? There are exceptions though, as is always the case when dealing with people. -Jim C Mild to Wild(R) Been lurking here a bit- putting in 152 hours of work this week alone between fire dept/pepper biz/forensics job. Do I know how to have fun or what? :-).
