Mornin' All!
I don't think anyone on this list has encouraged the administration of
pure capsaicin to children for purposes of punishment or revenge.
Tabasco was the product most mentioned in the articles. It is also one
of the most commonly available sauces to the average person.

I think we'll all admit that the potential for abuse exists, but the
parent that goes too far with hot sauce is just as likely to go to far
with any form of punishment.
Not once have I ever heard anyone on this list advocate the abuse of
children. Would it be considered abuse if the parent wants to encourage
the child to try new foods, some of which may contain hot sauce?
One bite of a well seasoned taco is probably going to be hotter than a
drop of tabasco.

I for one want to keep hot sauce off the banned list (Weapon of Mass
Tastebud Destruction?. It clearly doesn't belong in the same class as
scalding with boiling water, burning with irons or stoves, or whipping
with wire hangers (or wooden ones).

Thanks for letting me spout off,
Jeff

PS. A T-shirt I saw the other day... Not an invitation for flaming or
to be considered an endorsement of spousal abuse!!!
