Those of you who object to the smell of onions, garlic, fish emulsion or 
other stenches on your hands have an easy solution available.  Wash your 
hands with toothpaste.  Sure, your hands then smell like toothpaste, but 
it's not an objectionable odor. Chopping onions for salsa at this time of 
year sometimes does result in odors bad enough to wake you out of a sound 
sleep.
