Right, now if you would please explain to us northern sods what a 
ranchslider is...

In my gardens, the damage is less than I expected from a roof replacement 
job on the apartment building I live in.  My plants are intact and they were 
not pilfered.  They were not knocked down by thrown shingles.  However, 
there are bits of shingles in the grass and I will troll the sideyard with a 
large magnet to try to remove any nails.

Tony, I wish that things had worked out differently and you could have gone 
to the field.  Maybe yet.  You would appreciate it as a blessed garden - 
beyond the peppers are apples, and various other plantings of melons, 
squash, corn, other vegetables.  It is magical at this late part of the 
season.
