Good Evening.  Alas, I did not win the Dallas News cocktail contest 
with my spicy hot Textini.  With Tabasco Sauce and a jalapeņo-stuffed 
olive as ingredients, I guess it was beyond the pale for the 
Nexium-addicted horse-racing crowd from up North.  I didn't even 
place in the top ten.  At least I can assume that I know the reason 
why.  The winner is:

THE TALL TEXAN

I have to admit that it sounds delicious.  It is a take-off on the 
traditional Bloody Mary, as mine was on the Martini.  I personally 
would have used V-8 Juice instead of Tomato Juice.  And one could add 
any amount of hot sauce that one wished to the final concoction. 
It's a pretty drink, I have to admit.  You use a tall glass, like for 
a Bloody Mary.  Here's the recipe:

Put ingredients in a cocktail shaker:

1 ounce Tito's Vodka [made in Texas, apparently -- RS]
1 tablespoon Stubb's Smokey Mesquite Bar-B-Q Sauce
6 ounces tomato juice (Texas brand, if available)

Shake to mix; pour in a glass over ice cubes.  Garnish with cilantro 
leaves and a lemon slice.

I'm going to have to get some vodka and Stubb's sauce and try this.
