Hey Jim, What spring festivils are you talking about? Jim wrote, Snip: Every year I have illusions (delusions) of selling tons of plants at the spring festivals & do most of the plants for that effort. Every year I also find I'm way too busy to work spring festivals We have a few members in IN at the other forum that would be interested in knowing about them........ Matt, took a moment to look it up......... I've been wanting to ask this for a while regarding Medusa chiles, but Yatsafusa is another good example. I've noticed that you grow lots of Medusas for OF every year and so I tried them last year. They were attractive, but I thought they were otherwise pretty uninteresting. For eating, there are several chiles of similar heat level that I would prefer to Medusa (cayenne comes immediately to mind). Do these chiles serve some commercial purpose? Does someone say, "Jim, I need 200 lbs. of Medusas this year"? I wouldn't ask you to give away any secrets, but could you answer in a general sense? How about home gardeners -- do you grow these chiles for a specific purpose other than looks? How about Marbles? Hope everyone's garden looks good.... I grow the Medusa's every year at the OF simply becuase they continue to be listed as 'exccedingly rare' in the seed catalogs. They charge a premium for that seed (as much as $0.10 per SEED) and this is my attempt to make it more readily available to Joe Average. Gotta earn that 'sainthood' somehow :-P I also grow them simply 'cause I think they're cool looking :-) ALL of the chiles in the OF are simply there for the heck of it. If someone needed them commercially, they'd be grown elsewhere. There are no trade secrets in this business ;-) Marbles are much the same story. Every year I have illusions (delusions) of selling tons of plants at the spring festivals & do most of the plants for that effort. Every year I also find I'm way too busy to work spring festivals and end up planting the things in the fields so they don't go to total waste. Other than that, anything that anyone wants me to plant for the event, I try to do. - -Jim C Mild to Wild(R) ------------------------------ End of Chile-Heads Digest V8 #769
