All righty then- final call for the open fields. If you would like to attend, please send me a note off list ASAP as I am getting ready to send out the invites. Everyone who sends me a note is invited. For those not familiar with the event, on Sept 24th & 25th of this year, I shall throw open nearly an acre of chiles (40 types, about 7,000 plants ranging from Mild to Wild ;-) for you to come and help yourself. There is no cost involved other than what it costs you to make the trip and what you care to spend. The location is a somewhat not-so-secret spot in Central Indiana, for travel planning purposes. It's Indiana. The weather can be anything from 32 F snow, wind & rain to 78 F sunny and warm. Keep an eye on the forecasts & plan accordingly. There will be TONS of free food. A fast growing local BBQ restaurant chain (Dicks' Bodacious BBQ) is talking about bringing down a commercial smoker and cooking lots of meats in exchange for the privaledge of talking to many of you about trends and such in the CH world. Additionally, there is no end of fellow CH's sharing their various concoctions, some of which- like the peach/habanero ice cream- are legendary :-) There might even be some bread there in addition to the Wisconsin boys nuclear horseradish. I will probably break out my technically pure, analytical grade, 16 mil capsaicin for those wanting to try. If Alex (andra, not S ;-) is there you will most likely hear one of the best blues/folk voices ever. Cardinal Begg on the harmonica and anyone who cares on the guitar provide the accompanyment at the bonfire Saturday night. And I suspect there might be several types of alcoholic beverages going around ;-) More on that in the rules & regs. Camping is primitive though I do rent a couple of port-a-pottys for the weekend. Hotels are nearby (20 miles) and I can put up about a dozen people at my house (14 miles away). I will have stuff for sale there for those interested though there is ABSOLUTELY NO obligation. Commemorative posters will be there and can also be found on my site at wildpepper.com RSVP's include just about the entire US, England, and Canada. There are at least a couple of famous (and infamous :-P) folks that are rumoured to be there including: Russ Spanard, Byron Bromley, John T, CaJohn, the British Brigade (or brigands ;-), more MSNRogues than you can shake a stick at, and who knows! It's a chance to put a face to many of the names that appear on this list & meet some of the most knowledgable chile folks you'll ever find. Egos are checked at the gate, & a good time is had by all! Would a MSN Rogue please forward this to that group? My sincere thanks. Hope to see you all there!
