[CH] Non-Sectarian, Politically Correct, Something-To- Offend-Everybody

"Christmas time is here, by golly,
Disapproval would be folly.
Deck the halls with hunks of holly,
Fill the cup and don't say when.

Kill the turkeys, ducks and chickens,
Mix the punch, drag out the Dickens.
Even though the prospect sickens,
Brother, here we go again."

(Those sufficiently old and deranged to know the rest by heart may pause
at this point to break into song. The rest of you can lip sync along at:

No matter what side of the "War on Christmas" polygon you may be dancing
on, or how you may feel about tossing hand grenades at elves or Bill
O'Reilly, 'tis the season to reflect on the turning of the seasons and
the passing of another year.

Be assured that, no matter how much fear, terror and general lunacy is
loose in the world, the fundamental things still apply and, the Bushes
and Bin Ladens of the world notwithstanding, there really are
Traditional Family Values.

Peace on Earth, Good Will Toward Men (and wimmin and whatevers and even
Republicans), however little of it we may see, is still the best idea
and the best we can and should wish each other.

The world is ALWAYS going to hell in a handcart but it never quite
does...and it won't next year either. Take a moment to drop a word of
thanks to your particular Hairy Thunderer, Cosmic Muffin or
inspirational secular humanist for getting you though another one.
Lighten up, take a breath, watch the "Grinch" and buy your most
obnoxious relative an ugly reindeer sweater. (He'll either hate it but
be forced to pretend he likes it or he'll love it, proving that you were
right all along.) Have an eggnog and a slice of pie...the lettuce will
still be there in January. The enemy may be us but that don't mean we
can't deck us all with Boston Cholly.

In that spirit, my very best to you and yours and please have a (Pick
