Habaneros won by 1 3/4 lengths and payed $5.40. He earned $12,000 which should pay his feed and vet bills for a while. He was bred by Louis Roussell, who at one time controlled the Fairgrounds Racetrack outside of New Orleans, and who owned Risen Star which won one of the triple crown races quite a few years ago.
