1. An elderly lady I know in Santa Fe moved here in the 1940s from a city back east. She shipped her belongings. Months went by and they failed to turn up. Finally the shipper tracked them down. They had been routed via the Panama Canal because "it was cheaper to get to another country that way." 2. A neighbor of mine was driving his car to visit relatives back east. In Maryland he was pulled over for a traffic violation. The officer wanted to see his passport and visa and threatened to call Homeland Security when my neighbor failed to produce same. ~ Raven...on the edge of the Pecos Wilderness in New Mexico -- Make a small loan, Make a big difference - kiva.org
