Hey Jim, welcome back from old Doug in BC, who has been eating hot & spicy since about 1947. When one comes right down to it, and not trying to minimize your questions, all the math in the world is not gonna change what your taste buds tell you. I can eat habs straight, enjoy the fruity flavor, and live to taste another day. However when we go to any restaurant we always take a little bottle of our own powdered chiles grown, dried, powdered by me from our crop on our deck. We have several local Thai spots we frequent, and are friends with the owners, who are native Thai, and both of them bring us extra peppers to add to our meal. And they are aware that we bring our own, as well. Both Marie and I have developed our own level of tolerance for heat, which explains why we carry our own pepper powder. Rather than complain to the server, we simply apply what we wish, to bring the flavor to our level. Glad you fought the cancer, hope you beat it. Marie beat her breast cancer about 20 years ago....another survivor, thank the Lord! Cheers, old Doug on Vancouver Island BC
