I've heard good and bad things about Reynolds' Handi-Vac. Uses special bags.
Battery only. Cheap 'nuff to try. ~$13 at Walmart, they say. Check out the
reviews. There seems to be a debate between operator error and faulty bags.
I have a Foodsaver. Works fine if I remember to use it.

(I'm fine--Mary's doing as well as fibromyalgia will let her. Hope you,
Karen and Gavin are doing well!)

Some, I'm told, consider it prudent to use hermetic seals. Or at least a
waterproof bag to keep it in.
