Uses special bags. Battery only. Cheap 'nuff to try. ~$13 at Walmart, they say. Check out the reviews. There seems to be a debate between operator error and faulty bags. I have a Foodsaver. Works fine if I remember to use it. http://www.amazon.com/Reynolds%C2%AE-Handi-Vac-Vacuum-Sealer-Batteries/dp/B0 00XY8PDW/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1?ie=UTF8&s=home-garden&qid=1202768864&sr=8-1 > (Hope you and Mary are doing well.)
