I have 3 dehydrators (cheap ones from rummage/garage sales). I don't
think I paid more that 5 bucks each. No frills, no fuss. Plug them in
and let them go. The first year of Open Fields I dried over 50 pounds
of fresh Red Savinas. It took a while but the "freezing them first"
trick really works.

If you want beautiful whole dried peppers (at least the thin skinned
ones) just freeze them first and place whole in the dehydrator. The
warning air seems to puff out the pods and when dried they have a
"fresh pod" shape. Real nice if you want to display them or something.
