Hey all. I'm back from vacation and what a vacation it was.
I'll get into it all at some other time. I wanted to mention a couple of things before I get back to reading all the chile-head messages that came in while I was gone (geez, this list has been busy!).
I picked up 4 bottles of sauce along the road and 1 bottle of BBQ Sauce (not spicy though).
 Tortuga Lie's Habanero Pepper Sauce
Scorned Woman Chipotle Garlic Pepper Sauce
Lee Robinson's General Store, Hell's Kitchen Habanero Hot Sauce, Hatteras Village, North Carolina
Powell's Road Side Market, Blazin Chipotle Hot Sauce, Sligo, NC
I had Tortuga Lie's sauce at the restaurant, along with their Honey Habanero BBQ Sauce that was in the food. Very hot and really good. I recommend Tortuga Lie to any Chile-Head going to Nags Head or the Outer Banks any time soon. It is on Beach Road and can't be missed! It is a bar/restaurant with caribbean influenced food - great grub. I was eating it at 9:30 at night and it was great. What a way to end the day!
The other 3 I did not taste but can't wait to.
I also picked up some dry rubs and such:
 Paula Deen Southern Chili Spice
West's Best Hot Pepper Butter, ThistleDew Farms, Proctor, WV
Carolina Rib King BBQ Sauce - picked up at the Ribfest in Charleston, WV
Copper Creek Classic Dry Rub, Specialty Foods, Morgantown, WV
Tom Douglas' Rub w/Love Crab Cake Mix
Tom Douglas' Rub w/Love Bengal Masala Rub
I only bought the Tom Douglas things because I can't get either of these 2 versions in NJ. I love his Tokyo Rub and his Salmon Rub so I had to add these to the collection.
I bought the Paula Deen one because she cracks me up and I wanted to try one of her products. It was expensive for a small jar - $7.99!!! Yikes, Paula you want a lot of money!
I look forward to trying the West's Best Hot Pepper Butter - the lady in the store said to put it on top of a bar of cream cheese and just dig in. I can't wait. Looks really good. Has 3 kinds of chiles in it!
Also, I got home to find my raised bed a big mess from the heavy rains that occurred
andywine tomatoes started to go nuts with flowers, and I found one small habanero on one of the chile plants, along with several long green thai chiles on another. One chile on the overwintered mystery chile too. I was hoping something would be ripe when I got home - only 2 roma tomatoes were!
So more to come as I get back into my daily life.
Thanks to anyone who suggested restaurants. We hit some good ones and I had a couple of really hot meals!
More on that as soon as possible.
 Love,  RisaG
