Did anyone else see this on Yahoo?
 http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20080818/ap_on_re_us/salmonella_peppers
It seems that those jalapenos that made people sick have been rejected many times by the border patrol. It seems that they  have stopped more shipments of those peppers but the ones that got through made 1400 people ill.
Anyway, I saw the article and thought others might be interested, especially if you aren't a member of Yahoo. I am sure this isn't absolutely the newest information but I found it interesting.
I am finally getting ripe chiles from the garden so I don't  need to buy any from the supermarket or farmers market. I picked my first Chocolate Nugget yesterday and my first Orange Hab last week. I also had 2 ripe Thai chiles. The remaining Thais are still green and so are the habs. I have another 6 Chocolate Nuggets that are ripening and barely any buds or flowers for more. This is the first time in 2 summers that this plant has produced anything. Last year all I got were flowers and then they fell off. There was no pod growth at all. This year the plant is amazing. It is only maybe 2-1/2 to 3 ft tall, in a big pot, and it has at least 20 of the pods on it. So happy with the Chocolate Nuggets this year! Yeah.
By the end of September I should have a ton of Aji's and Thais and some Habaneros. One plant still has only buds on it but only a single pod. I may have to overwinter that one.
