I just picked a couple of jalapeņos turning red, 
but just beneath the waxy surface, there are 
numerous whitish "blossoms" that are about 
1/2  cm. in diameter.  The chiles look almost 
marbled.  I have the Field Guide to Pepper 
diseases put out by the Asian Vegetable Research 
and Development Center, and the only thing that 
looks like a possible explanation is Tomato 
Spotted Wilt, a thrips-transmitted 
topovirus.  Has anyone had this disease hit their 
chiles?  I've been growing chiles for over 30 
years, and never had this problem before.  I 
don't think I'll be eating these diseased 
critters.  I'm on digest, so if anyone has a
