And the moral of that story is:
Never go ANYWHERE unless you know that there is gonna be a"stray 
visiting fireman" in attendance. Just in case. Even one with NO ID is 
better than none atall atall!
Once again, we will be elsewhere, and not at OF, sorry about that. 
However we are heading to Winnipeg Manitoba for two weeks to visit # 1 
daughter, and her growing family. Her eldest son phoned us to tell me 
that his dear little Susi is going to add # 4 kid to their mix of 2 boys 
and a gal. And given the time we will be there, we will hit three 
birthday celebrations, dtr, sil, and that same grandson, all October 
birthdays! So, next April we can add another great grandkid making six!
I live long enuf, we may even see a few more!
On topic, I have one HUGE almost 4 ft tall Thai Dragon, which is just 
loaded with fruit, three other plants, Super chile, from a grocery store 
sell out late spring when they were getting rid of stuff at end of 
season for planting out. Great little beggars, fruit grows straight up & 
when ripe red, very hot, and one poor little jalapeno from same store, 
which is pretty slow, had 1 small fruit, and although there are a lot on 
it, they are all small, about 2 1/2 " long. Hot, but I will not get many 
so not counting on that one. Those poor plants were neglected badly, and 
I got 'em all for less than 2 bucks, so can't complain. Going to have to 
bring them inside this coming week, temps will hit below 50 so they will 
not mature any further. Maybe!!
We leave day after Cdn Thanksgiving, Oct 14th which is also Canadian 
voting day. Have to do the advance poll bit. Hope the weather is 
wonderful for Open Fields, and good turn out.   Cheers, Doug in BC
