These are simple and good, and can be made hotter or milder as you wish.
(I'm not convinced they're all that Cajun, but that's the name
the recipe originally came with.) I'm guessing you could use other crackers
as long as the volume is the same, perhaps with less oil for Ritz or Club
crackers. Sesame wafers done this way absolutely rock.

Cajun Fire Crackers

1 box whole-wheat saltines
1/3 cup of canola oil (or a bit more if needed)
1 Tbsp red pepper flakes
1 Tbsp cayenne pepper, or to taste
1 packet dry ranch dressing mix
one 2.5-gallon Ziploc bag

1. Place all ingredients except crackers in bag.
2. Close bag and mix ingredients well by shaking.
3. Add all 4 sleeves of crackers and close bag.
4. Turn bag over several times to coat crackers with the mixture.
5. Let bag rest for a couple of hours, turning every 15 minutes or so.
6. If you can wait till the next day, they are even better. This is one
you can make ahead of your party and it will keep really well.'
