Just the norm around here.... Some of it will no doubt be boiled,
but around this area, grills are firing up everywhere on the 4th,
and grilled corn is a standard. You see corn boiled more with crawfish
boils, where it's boiled in with the crawfish, along with red baby
potatoes, whole bulbs of garlic, whole onions, sausage, etc.
But on the 4th, it's all about grilling (and no doubt some smokers were
cranking, too).

Wally World had Kingston charcoal in produce, the meat department, and a
few other areas around the grocery portion of the store, not to mention
in several areas on the other end of the store, and the outdoor section.
And the reason Wally World stocked up was BECAUSE of the demand for corn
for grilling. That could have something to do with my "assumption", too.

Put it this way: If you know that grilling on the 4th is very, very
popular where you live, and you know that grilled corn is, at the very
least, a local favorite, and the produce guy at the local wally world told
you that they stocked up for this very reason...oh, and the charcoal
display on both sides of the produce section, and about 10 yards away in
the meat department, and then another 20 yards from there, still in meat,
and so on, what "assumption" would you make?

:-)
