To clarify things a bit....  I've known for a long time that cooking corn
on the grill//in the smoker is very popular around here, and I've read
about it in grilling/smoking-related sites all over the net from a lot
of different states, the assumption that I made was that it was a popular
item in a lot of areas.

I guess I was wrong on that part...must just be a Southern thing.  That's
fine...we certainly have our share of distinctly-Southern cookin', so it
wouldn't surprise me.

But no, around here, seeing corn evaporate from stores in large
quantities right before the 4th, you can bet that the vast majority of
that corn is headed straight for the grill.
