	Basil likes well drained soil, lots of sun, plenty of water 
	(not drowning, but not dried/crumbly earth)... in short, the
	same environment as chiles.  I had basil out the wazoo
	last year.  It was in the same bed as the peppers, got the
	same light and treatment, and threatened to take over the
	garden.  Just pinch off the seed-heads when they show, 
	and harvest as needed.
