I attempted this on an experimental basis with little success. The volatile nature of the odorants is such that they evaporate off in the drying process leaving little, if any, flavor behind. This can be attested to by the fact that if you try this, your house will be saturated with smoke smell. If you smell it, you're losing flavor. Just haven't found anything that replaces true smoking. -Jim C MWPH
