Hi C-H's,
This is a bit out of date, but I'll post it anyway.

Further to the good advice supplied by Brent T. and others, I would
like to add a couple of things about using your oven. An electric
oven will work better than a gas one, because the combustion of gas
in air produces water as a part of the reaction. (That's why gas
ovens outperform electric ones for bread making.) If you use a gas
oven, put it on a low setting (less than 200degF) and prop the door
open slightly with a chopstick or pencil to allow the escape of steam
and water vapor. Note also that higher drying temperatures will
evaporate more of the capsaicins.

It will over time break down and incorporate itself into the soil.
Don't poke it about - simply ignore it.
