Frank, try subbing brown sugar for the white sugar and reversing the
quantities on the cimmaron and allspice. I think you'll find that it's
much closer to Skyline. Their "official" recipe calls for double the
amount of allspice to cinnamon. And they put vinegar in, too.

Empress and Skyline don't fit with my definition of chilli. But, they
are good so long as one understands that. Some folks who grew up
thinking that "Cincinatti Style" was the ultimate example of a bowl of
red argue that it's the rest of the world that is out of step, not
Skyline.  <GGG>
