After years of experimenting, that's what I've been using for the last
several years.

I use UV proof re-inforced plastic.  It costs more, but I re-use it every
year.  I also use 1"x2" wood supports (ground to top center) every meter,
with nylon tent cords over the plastic (we get some major winds sometimes,
even over 120kph, like last weekend).

That, combined with plastic mulch, is a big help.
