[CH] trimming question

Awhile back there was some discussion about trimming back pepper plants that
were dug up from the garden, potted, and brought in, to over winter. I read
all that stuff, not planning on doing that since I didn't have good luck
with it last year. But I hated to give up on the things since some were
really loaded down with peppers, and decided to give it another shot. Well,
you guessed it, now I don't remember how much yall said to trim them back.
Another thing, which way would be better to trim them, example: say 1/3 off
each branch or cut off 1/3 of the total branches? I hope that makes sense to
someone. If anyone would like to email me instead of sending it to the list,
that way all the people who paid better attention won't be rereading this
