You don't have to keep the whole house "Chile warm" enclose growing area
with cardboard, plastic or glass, a couple light bulbs for heat. 

I am growing some in an unheated cellar, grow lights, 3/4 surrounded
with cardboard ,1/4 with plastic, 2ea 100 watt light bulbs, Keeps them 20F
warmer than surrounding area, Space for these plants 2ft by 5ft. by 5ft
high
Only 6 in 5 gal containers. So far so good.
