Once a long time ago I made sodium acetate with baking soda and vinegar - it
crystallizes weirdly, and smells strangely horrible.  Didn't occur to me to
actually eat it.  Try it, though, it's weird.

I expect that's CH3COO- Na+ ions and H2O as the result.
