Thiram is a fungicide which is used to treat pepper seeds and
other cultivars. It is used to keep the seeds from rotting before they
germinate. Quite a few of the seeds which I sell and of course grow
are treated with Thiram, and Chlorine (Georgia Treatment). Stokes
Seeds, a Canadian firm which also has offices in the US has most
of their seeds treated with Thiram. A French company (Semintech)
which I purchase seeds from treats with Thiram and Maliathon, an
insecticide.

Remember that treatments only affect the seed cover, which drops
off along with the seed leaves after germination and is never in
contact with plant tissue or fruit. My only precaution would be to
wash your hands after handling the seeds.
