     I laugh at these non-numeral categories of age; they remind me of the 
non-letter grades granted by the University of California at Santa Cruz. 
Pass/fail is what they get. Tells you nothing. So it is with
elder, older, curmudgeon, et al. But I'll bet I'm close to being really OLD 
here at 80 and counting.
