Oatmeal Jack replied (perhaps privately?) in relation to my mention of
Linus Pauling's article's list of vitamin C content demonstrating early man
had a vitamin C-rich diet.

"Are you saying humans originated in the Americas? Otherwise how did the
original humans get green peppers?"

I figured somebody would catch that.  

No, there was no intention to post that humans originated in the Americas. 
There is general agreement they did not.  Furthermore, there is fairly good
evidence there were no green peppers where humans are said to have
originated in Africa.

Pauling did have green peppers at the top of his list, however.  The list
contained other fruits and vegetables, some of which could have been
available to early humans.
