Sonoma Cheese Company makes a habe=F1ero jack cheese which has a nice =
taste with a fair degree of heat (not much for a CH, but a true =
challenge for a non-CH). Great on sandwiches or just to munch.

Subject: [CH] What is this stuff?
=20
=20
In my weekly shopping trip through our local supermarket (Wegman's =
in Rochester), I was going by the cheese section when a word on a =
wrapper caught my eye. Closer examination revealed that the word that =
caught my eye was indeed "Habanero" as in "Habanero Cheese". Well, =
well, well, thinks I. Chileheadedness has certainly sprung to the =
mainstream when such cheeses are to be found!
=20
My delight was tempered though, when I examined the cheese bricks a =
bit more closely. the cheese was flecked with both red and GREEN flecks. =
Hmmm.... What doth that mean? I ask myself.
=20
I checked the ingredient list. Guess what it says? It says red and =
GREEN habaneros are in the cheese. Now, I am not that knowledgeable =
about this stuff, but is there such a thing as a green habanero?
=20
(Aside from the obvious non-ripe version)
=20
(I suspect they had some other chiles in there, but I put the cheese =
down and walked away in a huff)
