[CH] Too hot to eat - I'll admit it

G'day Ch's,

Guess I'll have to admit to being caught out with heat tolerance at one of our local Indian
restaurents. Nice clean place with great service called The Curry Club (in Bridge Rd Richmond for
our Victorian Aussie CH's). I have been several times and each time asked them to make the Vindaloo
really hot. This makes it warmish and I usually don't make a fuss. However on one occasion I must
have been particularly grumpy and complained after the meal to the head waiter that it was never hot
enough. He gave me a card for a free meal and said to mention his name next time I came. Well, I
thought I could eat hot, however these guys took it as a challenge and made my beef Vindaloo with
more thai bird chilli's (Oz spelling) than I have ever seen. Being a normal? macho (stupid) man I
couldn't not eat it however the only way I could get through it was by wrapping it in lots of Naan
bread and boy did I pay for it the next day. The chef's came out at the end to see who had eaten
this dish and saw a guy curled up in the corner sweating, runny nose etc. We now have a truce there
and they make it fairly hot and I never complain. :-))

No affiliation etc. etc.

Regards

Martin in Melbourne Aus. An older wiser CH.
