Again' I'd like to announce the 2nd annual Summer Solstice Hotluck & Chili
Cookoff being held on Father's Day, 21 June, starting about noon. In
association with the Chili Appreciation Society International (CASI) and
the Chileheads list, we hope to have the seminal event of the season at the
Recreation site at Aberdeen Proving Grounds. This is a beautiful site that
would be perfect rain or shine. There are large covered pavilions with
running water and electricity. There will be a sanctioned Chili cookoff
with all proceeds to benefit charity. Entrance to the area, as well as all
the chilehead fare is free!
We are planning on setting up a Hot Sauce Tasting Bar, so if anyone has a
favorite sauce, salsa or condiment, feel free to bring it along and share.
(Any vendors out there who would like to send samples, we promise not to
turn them down!)
We are also expecting a hunk of Jim Campbells world famous "Bread." (Be
Afraid!)
Along with my Chpotle Marinated Portabellas I expect to haul my smoker
along and smoke up some steaks and ribs.
Think of what a great treat this would be to any lucky Dad! Bring the
whole family...
