I grew some in 1997 that were very similar to those you describe.  The
leaves and stems exhibited a lot of dark purple pigment particularly
in the newer growth.  The nursery I bought them from had them labeled
as "Firecracker Piquin".  They looked just like the picture of the
Bolivian Rainbow at the website address you posted except for the
purple color in the leaves and stems.  I've wondered if Bolivian
Rainbow and Firecracker Piquin aren't just different common names for
the same variety.
