I agree with the response that said there is something for virtually any
taste in Germany.  I found the Italian restuarants much better than anything
in the states, and every Greek place was fantastic, (free shot of ouzo to
stimulate the digestive juices didn't hurt).  Amazingly, some of the best
baby-back ribs I've ever had were at a gasthause(sp?) in Baumholder.
Lightly spicy, but the sauce needed a little work.  Earned the owner's
praise and a shot of Asbach Uralt for the table by polishing the ribs off
clear to the bone.  Shoot for the hole-in-the wall joints, make an honest
effort to fit in (when in Rome...) and avoid the dreaded Wiener Wald.
