If the varmint must die, then drowning is the least painful way to go. I
occasionally catch a field rat in my Havaheart trap. I drown it. The
raccoons and possums are relocated by the county Animal Control department.

The concept of the Havaheart trap is an alternative to poisons and the leg
traps that the animal suffers and slowly dies in. Some varmints are not
welcome anywhere so killing them is the best thing.
