Several years ago a friend of mine had two peach trees in his stone fruit
orchard that would not set fruit. He was advised by an asian aquaintance to
wrap bright red cloth around the trunks of both trees. The next year both
trees were laden with fruit.
There could well be some truth in the red mulch.
