[CH] scarification

Okay, here's a non-circuitous answer then:
I scarify my morning glory seeds to help them sprout. Instead of trying to
do this with a knife without cutting myself...not so easy even though they
are fairly large seeds...I use the edge of a nail file or emery board to
gently file down the seed coat in one spot so the sprout can "break out" of
the hard coating easier. Works like a charm.

Clyde,
your suggestion about cutting the skin sounds a bit ...
circumspect.
clearly there could be circumstances where this might be a good idea.
nonetheless, without seeming to circumnavigate the subject matter,
i wonder if the "rolling pin" myth may have been created to circumvent
the true meaning of "scarification" ?
undoubtedly, someone out there can circumstantiate these allegations
without too much circumlocution.
we'll all be better off with a "Straight"-forward explanation !
