Well...we knew it would happen at some point. My son is becoming a chile-head. It is happening slowly. Very slowly. He is very picky but it is starting to happen. Tonight, I put a few drops of Jim's Red Savina Garlic Sauce in with my ketchup so I could dunk my chicken. Steve put 2 drops of it in his ketchup too. Trev asked why we eat the hot sauce. I told him that it makes food more exciting. Different. Steve asked him if he wanted to try a bit of a mild sauce in his ketchup. He agreed. Steve put 4 drops of Frank's Red Hot in his ketchup. Mixed it around. Trev dunked his chicken in it. He agreed that it was good but it was hot. Then he dunked his next bite with such fervor! Then he asked for more! So, in a few weeks we'll try a sauce that is just a touch hotter than that and work our way up! I was so thrilled with him. Proud of him for trying. This is the child who won't eat normal childrens food -hot dogs or hamburgers. This is the child who only eats it when mommy makes it, not at a restaurant, even if he likes it. So, we're getting there. Maybe tomorrow at the chile festival he'll try something. We'll see! RisaG http://www.geocities.com/radiorlg updated 9/5/03 __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!?
