I've been busy too. Smoking my butt off & making powder. Like Walter, I am overwintering rocotos. About 25 diff varieties of C. pubs & 3 of them are entering their 3rd year soon. And I too have a couple large green pods on a rocoto. Not claiming to be an expert here, but I think that C. pubescens (when brought inside) like a light feeding and more watering than you would think. If dropping pods I would take a close look for aphids, mites etc. And dropping a few small pods seems to be the way the plant adjusts to different conditions.
