But, in answer to your question:  Don't prune the sprouts on your pepper
plants -- the growing point of most dicot plants (broad leaves, netted
veins) is at the end of the sprout - or the top of the plant.  if you prune
the plant you will most likely remove the growing poijt - and the plant will
die.
