i had sort of the opposite when i was in kansas city, preparing to go to
school in mexico city...couldn't get the locals to understand that i was
going to school in *mexico*..."you mean OLD mexico?"...they thought i
was talking about mexico, missouri..."i didn't know there was a
university in mexico"...
then, many years later, when i was travelling to the midwest with some
mexican friends, we stopped in mexico, missouri, so they could buy junk
marked 'souvenir of mexico'...
it was funny at the time...you had to be there, i guess...
